The Thuja occidentalis, our “cedar” of Canada, is so wrongly called because of its resemblance to the “cedar of Lebanon” (Cedrus atlantica) or the “Red cedar of the West” (Thuya plicata) whose bark are similar, but much larger in size and diameter.
Cedar, also called “tree of life”, is a powerful cleanser and repellent against unwanted organisms: mites, lice and fleas.
