Marshmallow is a plant known for its softening properties indicated in the treatment of irritations and inflammatories of all kinds, the treatment of coughs and gastric disorders. The active ingredients in the roots are mucilage, starch, polyphenols, phenolic acids and amino acids.
In traditional medicine, the root can be of great use in the treatment of cystitis, dysentery and diarrhea. The roots can also be eaten after being boiled in the form of herbal tea or decoction.
For external use, you need an amount of 30 to 50g per liter of water. This decoction can be applied as a mouthwash, gargle, skin and face cleansers, or other practical uses.
