CULINARY TIP: GOOD MORNING!
Whether in banana bread or in granola mixes, quinoa flakes are easy to cook, in addition to being so healthy. One of our favorite times to enjoy these organic gluten free flakes is in the morning! Quinoa flakes cook faster than rolled oats, making a perfect breakfast for busy mornings. We prepare 2/3 cup of water, 1/3 cup of almond milk (you can also use regular, soy or rice milk) and 1/3 cup of oatmeal. Then add a pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg or cloves, boil, simmer for 2-3 minutes to let it thicken, and serve! Add some nuts, honey and fruit for a complete breakfast that only takes a few minutes to prepare, but that will keep you fully satisfied!

Even though we treat quinoa like a grain, it is actually a plant, and a wild one, what’s more! (see photo below) Quinoa is represented by the seeds on the plant, which is in the spinach, beet and Swiss chard family.
