Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) is an international label created in 2010 for fish from sustainable aquaculture. This label is found on 9 species of fish from aquaculture, such as salmon, tilapia, trout, pangasius or shrimp, and on seaweed.
This label guarantees that the fish has been produced with respect for the environment and in good working conditions.
The label is managed by ASC, an independent non-profit organization created by WWF (World Wild Fund for Nature) and IDH (Dutch Sustainable Trade Initiative).
